In the rugged and mysterious Appalachian mountains, Hellboy and a rookie B.P.R.D. agent are sent to investigate reports of unusual activity in the 1950s. Upon arrival, they find a remote and eerie community, isolated from modern society and seemingly trapped in a bygone era. It quickly becomes clear that the people living in this area are under the thrall of dark forces, namely witches who have established dominance over the community.
